The Human Resources Director posted an article in late January 2019 about how the momentum of the recruitment industry is shifting from how it has been for a few years, to something different.
At the moment (according to HRD) there is currently a high volume of candidates vying for the best roles.
This can be seen as great news if you’re an employer (like our clients) because it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you’ve got the pick of the crop to choose from.
And maybe you will have.
Mountains of CVs to get through
However, the flip side of that coin is that you’re going to have to wade through a mountain of CVs and applications in order to find the best candidates to shortlist and interview.
We know – we see it every day! But that’s what we do best. Noel and I have been doing this for so long now that we know what we’re looking for on behalf of our clients.
Which frees up time our clients don’t have to spend wading through mountains of inbox applications. It means they can get on with doing what they do best.
According to the recruitment software group TribePad, there can be as many as 79 (as in seventy nine!) CVs per job opening.
ThatsalottaCVstowadethrough! (yes – sometimes it can feel overwhelming to get your head around).
What happens when employers try to do the hiring themselves when they receive this many applications is that they’re tempted to settle for good enough – just to get the job done and to hire someone.
But why settle for ‘good enough’ when you can have the best?
