Lifestyle ideas to include in renumeration package

When lifestyle outweighs salary

Stuff.co.nz ran an article recently about the top three things employees want from employers being more easily found with larger (think corporate) organisations (salary, work-life balance and job security).

However, because not everyone is prepared to work 80+ hours/week and marry themselves to a multinational, it means the smaller organisation (up to 50 staff) is able to attract equally high calibre staff by being creative with its benefits.

Here at EVP Recruitment we’ve helped our clients create all sorts of interesting total remuneration packages to attract high quality personnel.

Here’s the original Stuff.co.nz article.

Here’s a list of some attractive “lifestyle” options some employers are able to offer their employees.

  • Onsite staff cafeteria
  • Gym memberships
  • Medical insurance
  • Attractive KiwiSaver employer contributions
  • 4-day working weeks
  • Flexi Time
  • Work from home
  • Annual leave “pool” for emergency situations
  • Sabbatical leave
  • Birthday off (without using up annual leave)
  • Annual community / philanthropic days
